Grievance Policy
Archer Therapy welcomes feedback and the opportunity to address program participant grievances.
Archer Therapy is fully committed to conducting all activities in strict conformance with the American Psychological Association’s Ethical Principles of Psychologists. Archer Therapy will comply with all legal and ethical responsibilities to be non-discriminatory in promotional activities, program content, and in the treatment of program participants. The monitoring and assessment of compliance with these standards will be the responsibility of Archer Therapy’s Education Committee.
While Archer Therapy goes to great lengths to ensure fair treatment for all participants and attempts to anticipate problems, there will be occasional issues that come to the attention of the staff that require intervention and/or action on the part of the staff or an officer of Archer Therapy. This procedural description serves as a guideline for handling such grievances.
Members of the Archer Therapy’s Education Committee are: Norissa Williams, Ph.D. (Chair), Thomas Zimmerman, Ms.Ed., LPCC, and David Archer, PSW, MFT, MSW.
When a participant files a written grievance and expects action on the complaint, the following actions will be taken:
- If the grievance concerns a speaker, the content presented by the speaker, or the style of presentation, the individual filing the grievance will be asked to put their comments into the following form and the Education Committee chair will be notified of the grievance: https://forms.gle/JQ2HxA8fYpncaMvJ6
- The Education Committee chair will then pass on the comments to the speaker, assuring the confidentiality of the grieved individual. The feedback will be incorporated into the Education Committee meetings to improve training methods, style, language, and standards. If the purpose of the grievance is not to improve how our trainings are conducted in the future, but is to seek a specific resolution (including refunds), see the section below.
- If the grievance concerns a training offering, its content, level of presentation, or the facilities in which the workshop was offered, the Archer Therapy Education Committee will mediate and work to reach an appropriate resolution. If the participant requests action, the Education Committee can offer the following potential resolutions: offer to move the participant to another training at no additional cost or provide a partial or full refund of the training fee.
Please complete the following form to file a grievance that is submitted to the entire Archer Therapy’s CE Education Committee: https://forms.gle/RKBpnSnuNNspz8hh8
If the grievance concerns an Archer Therapy CE program, in a specific regard or against a specific instructor, the Education Committee Chair alone will attempt to arbitrate, especially if the instructor who is the subject of the complaint is a member of the Education Committee. The Education Committee Chair does not directly provide training and will not have been one of your trainers. To issue a grievance to the Education Committee Chair, please complete the following form: https://forms.gle/JQ2HxA8fYpncaMvJ6
Grievances can also be sent by mail and will be shared with the Education Committee at:
